HFP Youth Ministry incorporates the eight components of Catholic youth ministry: advocacy, catechesis, community life, evangelization, justice and service, leadership development, pastoral care, and prayer and worship. Through our youth ministry offerings, we hope to empower our young people to live as disciples of Jesus Christ in our world today by drawing them to responsible participation in the life, mission, and work of the Catholic faith community.
At the core of our youth ministry offerings is youth group. High school youth group meets monthly, usually on the first Wednesday of each month, with the location rotating among the parishes. Our time together typically includes time for community building, active learning, and prayer. The other three weeks of the month, high school sessions are held at each parish center. Junior high youth group meets four times a year, with the location rotating among the church sites.
HFP high school youth also attend and help plan regional and archdiocesan events, such as youth rallies, institutes, justice and service projects, and retreats. Many have also attended the National Catholic Youth Conference, a gathering of over 20,000 Catholic youth from across the country which is held every two years in various locations across the United States.
Middle school youth have opportunities to take part in lock-ins, retreats, and service projects.
